Wife & I spent last week Sun - Thursday at our time share  on the Nevada side and saw the smoke on our way in while on 50. The fire then,(From hwy 50)didn't seem too large when we passed through.  While traveling around to do our Tahoe errands, we got to see the  smoke clouds from across the lake, the fire then sure didn't appear small!  Smoke from it completely obscured the " North shore"
The sheer size of the clouds over the mountain range was impressive!  I thought that those "Thunder clouds" had to be responsible for the fire with lightning strikes, but those clouds weren't clouds at all, noooo they were smoke clouds.  Sadly we didn't hear the fire was due to arson until Wed night.
Thursday morning when we left for home, 50 was closed,  we ended up touring the high Sierra over hwy 4  adding maybe an hour to trip, but allowing us to visit the high country again.
So sad someone has to stoop that low to get attention!  We have enough problems with mother nature starting fires, we don't need any man made!

I spend a lot of time with friends and family in the Crystal Basin and this fire is a real bummer.

A big shout out to all of the people involved in fighting this fire.

If anyone is looking for good info on it check out the King Fire Facebook page.
