What a jackass :smt011 Think he could have committed a more expensive crime??? His illegitimate children will be paying his debt long after he's dead and gone.

He'll just be a liability for the taxpayers for the rest of his life.  The only thing of value he possesses is his body parts.  Time to contact the Chinese.

Unforgivable!

We've been watching this fire because of the high risk area - it's been explosive.  Was at 11,000 acres yesterday morning - blew-up to 29,000 acres by 1800, then amazingly blew-up to over 70,000 acres during last night.  Generally the fires lay down a bit at night but this one just blew-up right thru the night. Fuels are just so bone dry and there were winds to 30 mph yesterday. Big nuclear bomb cloud yesterday afternoon when it started really cooking.  Check out the Calfire incident website for a map.  Was below Stumpy Meadows yesterday morning then went right up the rubicon river canyon to just below Hell Hole by this morning.  Winds are projected to be variable from S, E, W over next 24-48 hrs with this front going thru so fire front may shift directions.  Hwy 50 was closed again this morning as they're trying to keep it from getting south of 50.  Another fire front is headed towards Union Valley and should really cook when it hits the young dense vegetation and plantations resulting from the Cleveland and Freds near Ice House Rd back in the 1990s.

I watched that smoke cloud climb into the sky yesterday from my house in Rancho and even from Elk Grove after class!  I couldn't believe how big it got overnight, Inciweb says it grew over 10 miles overnight.  CRAZY!!

Let's not jump the gun TOO much here, guys... Innocent until proven guilty, remember?

That said, the guy seems like a real jackass whether or not he started the fire...

There had been so many stories flying around town until this guy got caught.
Two guys BBQing got into a fight and knocked the bbq over was the biggest one, meth heads was another, etc.
The inside info I got was a guy was bbqing on his deck and started the fire accidentally.
It was only 2 acres and was put out. The fire dept left. Over night a widow maker, which was still hot, fell out of the tree and rolled down the hill and reignited the fire.
I will be very interested in learning the specifics of what really happened.
If his guy is guilty he should be burned, starting with his toes, slowly.
After being replanted, the Crystal Basin was looking like a real forest after the Cleveland fire some 21+ years ago. Now some, if not all, of that seems to be going up with the King Fire.
This all sucks on a magnitude of different levels.  :smt010

Has it been that long since the Cleveland?   I must be getting real old.  Before the Cleveland there was the Pelican.  The ENF must be close to totally burned over in my lifetime.

Send him to ISIS!
Now that wouldnt be a bad idea.
Send our death row inmates over for beheading.

This guy who started this fire ruined so many lives. Amazing the damage one jackass can do to affect so many.
Not to mention all the beautiful outdoors we all will miss out on because of him.
