Derrick wait; till your running the whole Slam Down111. At that point your tune will change. We all know how it looks after a fire. But how long it takes depends on how hot the fire was.

Yea this sucks indeed. I had a interview in placerville yesterday for the county  and at the county chief adminstrative office everyone was worked up and they said they been on the phones all day helping with Evacs. That also sucks the Cystal basin, Stumpy meadows' and Now Hell Hole Areas are under fire. I grew up hunting and fishing these beautful Rich areas and now to see under fire is just soo heart breaking. Damn. :smt005 :smt013...well like derrick said, I'll be optimistic and hope a new and more rich full of life forest comes back. I'm also sorry for all the folks who live up there who are suffering from this.

An interesting twist to the story. He broke into someone's home to call 911.

Huntsman has four prior felony convictions: assault with a deadly weapon, grand theft, auto theft and receiving stolen property. Most of those crimes were committed when Huntsman was about 20 years old.

Yet another reason I'm all in favor of three strikes and you're out!!!!!  :smt013

I just drove down from Oregon this afternoon and could see the smoke from this fire from the border.
The whole sky, from horizon to horizon was filled with smoke the whole way from Oregon to Placerville.  It didn't look any worse in Placerville than it did at Shasta.  That is a LOT of smoke...

My friends still can't get into their property. This is the remnants of a school bus that was on the property. All is gone.

Just had yet another big plane fly real low over the house.
They look like big jumbo jets flying super low on their way to dump more retardant.
Been windy up here today. Not good.
Heard a lot of sirens earlier today.
I hope the fire didn't jump to another location.

Just took a drive up to the library.  Next to the fair grounds.  Lots of fire trucks and equipment there.  I sat in the parking lot at the dollar store, East end of town and watched the big DC10's come and go with loads of retardant.  I didn't see much activity in downtown for the Oktoberfest, so I went home.  Looks like a BIG dark rain storm just to the South of 50 coming my way, I hope there is no lightning...
