Tim , Joe , my dad and I headed to the red can today. Tim and I launched at about 8am while my dad and joe went to go get some propane for the fish fry later. We were at the red can for about 20 minutes and we see a fin whale swimming around us for a while , 20 minutes later joe and my dad show up . While we were catching san dabs we hear some splashing and look over and see a big great white shark with blood in the water . The great white was approximently  15-18 feet long the dorsal fin looked to be about 3 feet tall it was thrashing a seal around like a rag doll. While we all sat in awe I grabbed my gopro and my dad grapped his camera  tried to get some video and picture. Some pictures came out not to well and you can only see the shark slightly on the gorpro due to the cameras wide angle.

So, did his presence affect the fishing?  I've always heard that the fish run and hide when a GW is around.

Cool experience.  I'm guessing the red can off the aquarium in Monterey.

That is a great experience. Now your odds have gone down on seeing another one, which might be a good thing. At least you weren't IN the water! :smt013 Good story. You forgot to include when it jumped out and saw the white on its belly covered in blood.  :smt003

Being on the water as much as you are you are bound to see nature unfold before your eyes.

Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us  :smt001
