I know but now I'm going to delay my install till it comes out :p

I was also thinking of getting the rail mount and drilling a hole in the center to fit the flush mount

Great idea!  It's not easy holding the nuts on the under side that's hard to reach.  This should sell like hot cakes.

I called Scotty, Backing Plate will ship out 1st week of Sept.  Dealers will have them mid-Sept.

Retail is $4.50 each w/ screws - forgot to ask what size.

I think those are a #8 or #10 size.

No rigging bullet type bolt?  How are you supposed to back it if you can't get access to the spot?  That would bring you back to rivets again.

Cutting board is cheaper and works just as well if this is solely for somewhere you have in hull access.

Ben - Jump to 6:39   I'm waiting for these. I am not going with cutting boards.    Its not Scottys fault you can't access your hole.

Or just superglue some nylon lock nuts to the underside or the backing plate (or inside of hull surface) then screw in like normal.

I've been making backing plates with cutting boards and S/S T nuts for years. Heat em up and sink em in with a vise. Maybe I should start working for their development center...
