Come to the realization that we need a larger vehicle.  Looking to get a Sienna LE in the coming months.  I've done my truecar research, and know approximately what I'm going to be looking at, but if a better deal can be had I'm all for it.

My parents bought 2 prius from freeman toyota. I bought a brand new tacoma TRD sport 4x4 from them. I got mine for invoice price. Every other dealership was $1000 over invoice. They wouldn't even budge when I told them freeman would give it to me for invoice. I'm happy. I heard of people getting it for under invoice price. They hope u come back and do your service at their dealer.
But any ways freeman is in Santa rosa.(north bay) but almost every big city has a toyota dealer. So you can use that to ur advantage getting a good price. I called every toyota dealer from the bay to sacramento before buying my truck. Just act like if they can't give u a good price the dealer next door will.

couple of months back we got 60 moths@ 0%, 2500 casback, and 90 days deferred at less than average cost per truecar from novato toyota. did nearly the whole transaction via email, and they delivered the car to me.
I'm sure a hookup could get less base price, but damn would you even notice if it was spread out over 60?

Probably not, but every dollar counts these days!  It's really less about the price as it is finding someone who will go to bat for you  to get the best deal/financing possible rather than trying to bend you over every chance they get.  You just don't understand how I hate new car shopping, and the slimy dealings that come with it.  After the last dealings to get my sister in law a new car, I felt so dirty I needed to go home and take a shower.  :smt013

I'm in the market for a new Tacoma 4x2 manual transmission.  Got the certification from TrueCar and from the Toyota dealer in Palo Alto since July but they till can't find the truck!

I have bought a few cars through Costco.  One of the requirements for the dealer to participate in their program was to show you the invoice.  I think I paid a couple hundred below the invoice.  I'm not sure if the program is still the same but it sure made the process less painful.  I think you also get some sort of gift card good for parts, service or accessories as part of the deal.  Probably worth looking in to.

+1  Had the same experience a few months ago when I was looking for a used Toyota pickup.  Went to a lot of dealerships with all info & cash in hand.  All were less than helpful & most downright con-densending.  Wound up buying off C.L.

Well the lady at Novato Toyota was awesome. Finance mgr who also does their internet sales.
we sent out bids, she came back right away, so did a couple of other dealers.  However, she was super responsive, didn't press for a phone call, and did all the negotiations via email. Then didn't harass us with the add-on subscriptions (extended what-nots) when we finally went in to close.  The whole transaction was positive.

Do you still got email from her?  I'd like to give them a try.

4 months ago I bought a 2014 Toyota RAV4.  Best thing I did was buying a Consumers Report Magazine about 2014 Best Cars that had a section on "5 Steps to the Best deal".  I used these tips and it worked for me.

Online is a great way to go too. It's easier to make deals when it's not face to face.
