Very good to know and practice. I flipped over @ TC about month and half ago.
Once you practice and know how to do a self rescue its pretty easy to perform.  I was very comfortable knowing that it wasn't a big deal to up right the yak and to get back onto it and go about catching some more fish.. It's just something everyone should know how to do. Because it's going to happen...
Thanks to all involved for getting this clinic together.

Guys! Sean Morley is arguably the best paddler on the planet, and one of the best coaches I've ever worked with. People fly from all over the world to go to his symposium in SF. 3hrs 6hrs who cares. It's a free class! If you are on the fence just commit and go. You will be amazed at what you learn. Sean changed kayaking for me. He taught me so much of what I know. I hope as a club we can take advantage of this.

Anyone who attends this seminar and gets wet can have ten dollars off registration at Albion next year.

After talking with Sean, he ok with anytime.
I'm thinking 11ish? What do you guys think?
That way those who get there early can go do some fishing first then get wet.
Plus those who a coming from a long distance won't have to be in a huge hurry.
Good?

That's awesome.  You must have connections.  Or know him personally.

I believe that Sean will be at Albion on the weekend of the 7th for the Headwaters Adventure function where there will be clinics.  Check out their website.

I want to try it in warm water first too.  Swimming isn't allowed in Spring Lake.  Lake Sonoma would be good but not at Yorty Creek because there's knee-deep mud due to low water; it should be okay at the dam.  Can I join you on Monday?

I've never tried self rescue in the ocean or while wearing my wetsuit. Seems like a worthwhile thing to do. Plus getting advice from an expert! I'm in. I think I'll drive up Saturday so I can get in some fishing too!

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan
