Laura and I just got home, haven't unpacked - its 96 degrees!!! :smt010
Craig, thanks for putting on such a great event.
Not sure what the right solution for the pot-luck is, but I think its a big part of our NCKA culture. I also believe there are too many folks eating and drinking the kegs and not contributing. This is sad and childish. I think this post will help out, but not sure it will solve it.
Oh ya, and I wish I was still there!

Thanks Craig and all for hosting such a fun event!

There is never a shortage of food at these events!....even if the food was devoured when we got to the main potluck,  there were many side venues like Dennis and his family.. coming from Oregon to cook! ...Thanks man...first time to eat squirrel

Thanks Marv & crew for the great Pizza which was in continous production. Jingle for her famous flan, my daughter Yana for cooking all that mac and cheese, and all others who came together to make this all work out!

for me great times , great people, and just being away from work and getting out there is what it is about
here are some pics of the GREAT event

Sounds like a great time was had by all. I wish I could have stayed for the tourney. I managed to catch a couple small Black and Yellow Rockfish on Friday for my first rock cod from a kayak. My wife and I were catching all kinds of undersized crab off the docks Thursday. Friday my traps were covered by so much kelp, I don't think the crabs could find them. I gonna put this one on my calendar for next year so I don't double book myself. 375 days to go!

Thank you to my brother Ron and everyone for introducing me to kayak fishing on the ocean this past weekend. Now all I can think about is getting back out there, I have to inspect some roofs in Fort Bragg next Friday and La Verne in So Cal next Monday and all I want to load my yak next to my ladder just in case weather's kind and I can sneak out for a few hours. How can you work once you fully catch this fever! Thanks again for creating a community that teaches, shares and promotes our sport!

I saw someone went out on Saturday (bad ocean condition) in short which kind of bother me since we discussed this topic many times here.  Not only he "endangers" himself but possible the people who trying to "assist" him.

Thanks Craig for this event which was my first time to Albion.  Not knowing what to expect I brought the whole garage with me!!! I arrived Thursday at 11ish and tried to set up camp at schooners but found my reserved site to be the size of my truck bed!!! so I headed over to albion campground and upon a grace of god I'm in line and the gal lisa had to take a phone call, some one just CANCELED a site as I was standing there!!!!  I set up on site C42 right across from the fish cleaning station, it was great being able to see all that was coming in day to day! I never hit the water Thursday but party was on the menu....

Friday wake up and hit the water at 630.  Passed through cove and went out a couple hundred yards trying to get to the whistle but after a dozen swell breaks to the face I said I'm out and tucked back into the cove!!!!! Managed some nice rockies and a decent ling but landed a PB cabbie at 22.75 it was fatty that pulled like a freight train!!!! Fridays night festivities was moreless a rebuttal of Thursday!  up late BSing with the brotherhood from camp to camp, it was great and had a bad ass time!

Sat the T day was awesome! Hit the water at 615 and jambed past the cove to the whistle rock n rollin the whole way, F it  this is T day, go big or go home right???  hit the whistle and headed south on a troll for the pink with a DDsix with a wiggle hoochie for nada for an hour switched to a krippled herring rig for nada  AHHHH F&*k it I'm hitting the bottom.  Landed one decent 27" ling put it on the stringer, landed several others smaller than the 28 kept releasing hoping for the hail mary for nada!!!!  Didn't bother weighing in my ling but it was cool to see all the pink caught by them AI mo foes plus KEN JAN the Revo Slayer!  Enjoyed the pot luck for what it was worth, I made 2 double batches of my chocolate sauced brownies and I watched them get devoured, lol least everyone liked em! but yes the MEAT was lean to be had.  Maybe rent a giant BBQ and everyone shows up with some pork beef or chk for the grill?  Stayed up late AGAIN sat.  Up BSing with them so called "A Hulls"  and thought they could of been louder cause I couldn't hear them at my campsite!!! =)

Sunday!!! wake up with the desire to just search for chrome when I know I should just pack up camp and get home to the ol'ladie waiting at home!  I hit the water late due to the bites being late at 730, hit the water at 8.  Headed straight for the whistle and past it a ways,  headed south again with a hoochie for NADA  saw several PB catching and swinging a net....then came to a conclusion....rough seas trying to keep a trolling speed for the action needed on the bait is the problem, well when your surfing down the backside of a swell that makes it kinda hard =)  BIRD I want to know when your doing another PINK seminar! I'm close to you and can bring beer and tri-tip!!!  Finally packed up came at 3 and was on the road back to Folsom at 4, but made it home at 9 due to F&*Kn races at the track.  All I could think was damn you racin rob and your homies!!!

All n All it was an amazing first experience to be at Albion.  I will go back time and time again.  The brother hood amongst us is amazing.  Met some new NCKA bros which was sweet! Maybe next event there can be more jello shots.... Can't wait to see all you F'rs again at the next event.  Miss yall already
