Thanks for being so nice to me. I hooked a huge king from my home built kayak.  Thrilling and a bit scary in my tippy boat.  He broke my line after several minutes of towing me around backwards.  Can't wait to try again.

Dude....I was right by you when this all went down and it could of turned nasty in a second!!  you need a rod holder dude,  and ease off on the drag  alittle so it can run and turn your boat to it so you don't get towed backward.  Fish won you lost = DAMMIT maybe next time.  Also when in the salt bring a bigger paddle a baseball bat only gets u so far,  bigger paddle you could of turn your boat in a second and then gain some headway on that pig that spooled you for 10 mins!   My 2cents

Eric - the paddle he was using was a Greenland paddle - I love mine and use it with my sea kayak as well. They actually work great if you know how to paddle with them effectively. The Inuit's used them in the ocean long before the Werner versions were invented    and you can turn pretty well with them (although the look funny, like you are just paddling with a stick).

I think you might have been right about the drag on the line...and I would have no idea Jeff, where you would have put that fish if you had managed to reel him in!

You'll have to post pics on how you built your boat - very cool.

Craig, Linell and any and all that were involved in putting on Albion did a great job and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. So here are the close to 100 pics i've chosen out of something like 300 that we took last weekend at Albion.   Sorry it took so long, but I've been busy interviewing for jobs this week and very busy prepping for them.  Now for the 12 separate uploads to get them on here!
