This beast from hell got "best new boat" and "best in show" at ICAST (whatever that is).  I'm sure it has 666 tattooed to a bullhead.  So you can "kayak" without paddling.

Shoot, just chuck out that funny looking stick with the two wide parts on it.  What the heck is that thing anyhow?

I 'm sure this argument has been had here before, but I don't at all get where we are going.

It needs to be exorcised. :smt044

Try to have an open mind. Its not your sleek ocean kayak. Its a watercraft that will appeal to all those who cant paddle for some reason. You ever drive a VW bug? :smt003 :smt006 :smt044

Okay, if you can't paddle (and can't peddle), this is a good option.  Craig, you opened my mind.

Pocket book predator for sure!!! Registered as a VESSEL in California... ($$$$) Not for me... I have a powerboat (or 3) already. To each his own though... :smt003
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I agree, this really does blur the line between kayak and "boat". But, if thats what you're looking for then go for it. I just think it's a kayak trying to do a power boats job. Best of show? I find that hard to believe. That being said, iCast is a show for all fishing and boating disciplines so I guess you could say it fits in that way...I still don't get it.

iCast is a tradeshow for the general fishing market.  There are over 40M fishermen in the USA.  Of that, 3% are kayak fisherman.  You can probably guess which 97% this is targeted at.   :smt002

Psst ... I secretly want one.

Best of show at last year's iCast was Power Pole's micro anchor ... yes, targeted at the kayak fishing market.

Kayak fishing is the fastest growing segment of both the kayaking and fishing markets.

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

No kidding! Used to be when you saw another kayak fisherman on the water, you might be surprised and then realized you probably already knew them. It is not that way around here anymore.

I've met some great folks, for sure. I also see more of  the MalWart SINKs where the guys have on shorts, tank tops and flip-flops - that stuff scares me.

Until your battery dies and your stuck on the water.  If you can not paddle or pedal, you should not be on the water.  At least never alone.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

What happens if you are in a boat and it breaks down Scott? Happens all the time. All over the world. You couldn't paddle a 30 ft cruiser very well.

I don't like it, but I am sure someone will think it is the cat's meow. But then again, I don't even use fish finders, just me and the gear.....fishing. Not into video games and automation, I do it for the pure enjoyment and getting out into the wild. I understand not everyone shares my point of view, and that is cool, but I will always be on a basic platform, fishing.
