lost some one very special to me

my grand father passed away today, he has been sick for a couple of months, but the last week he had enough and gave up. This is the closest person i have ever lost because he was like a father to me and we did every thing together, i dont need any thing other than a prayer for him. I will  miss you for ever James W. I lost my grandfather almost four years ago under similar circumstances - years of mounting illnesses until his body could no longer go on. Similarly, he was also the closest person that I had ever lost at the time and it was devastating. He, along with my dad, are the ones that have instilled in my a love of nature and a passion for fishing. I definitely understand and commiserate with the hole that a loss like that leaves.

Dude I'm sorry for your loss ! I just lost my father in law and long time fishing partner ! We just got back from a fishing trip to la paz , dropped him off at 10 pm and he passed away in his sleep . I still miss him every day 25 years of fishing and its gone ! Hope you always remember the good times you had with him god speed

Same here. Wish I could take my grandpa kayak fishing. I often think about how much he would've enjoyed it. A few years before he passed, I told him I planned to name my first son after him. He probably thought I was just being a "candy-ass" ...but 8yrs later and my son Duke resembles his great grandpa more than he'll ever know...
