I hooked up with J-Verm early Sunday, he came by and gave me a ride to windmills north of Cayucos since my wife needed the truck for work. We had a pretty good outing, the bite was slow but we both caught a few. He got a nice Cabby and a few rock cod, I picked up a decent size rock myself. I managed to get nuked launching and the footage is pretty darned good.

J-Verm came over and hung out with me for a bit and decided to stay the night so we could hit Montana De Oro first thing today. The swell was fairly large but it wasn't very fast. We had an absolute blast and I think we paddled (he pedaled... bastidge!) about 4 1/2 miles. We had an awesome experience with a sea lion that decided to give us a Sea World type experience and I got  a little bit of it on camera. I hurt my knee both Saturday and Sunday so J was going to land and give me a hand when it was my turn. You'll have to see the video to see how that worked out...

Let me know what you think, I'm still getting the hang of the whole Gopro/Video thing.

Fun video.

The launching trouble must be from that big ol' plush boat seat in your kayak!  :smt005

I sure had a blast shooting the footage for the video, can't wait to go out again next weekend and shoot some more :smt004! Thanks for all the feedback, I was kind of hesitant to post it here at first, since I put it up in other places but I wasn't getting any comments and I wanted feedback. I've decided to do my fishing reports in video form because everyone loves fish porn, right?

Fun video.

I can't seem to roll that boat (SCK Raptor) but I find myself being knocked off or sliding out of the seat a good bit. I'm going to have to figure something out to give it a bit more butt grip! :smt044

So the Raptor bucked you off !  :smt005        That was a great video...  thanks for sharing. :smt006

It might make it a bit easier if you don't attach the paddle leash until you get out past the breakers.   Then be sure to disconnect before coming back in.   Less chance of you getting tangled up.
It gets easier after you try it a few more times.

I'm thinking loop velcro on the yak, with corresponding hook velcro on the wetsuit seat....dang i may need to try that :smt044

I already started waiting to leash my paddle. I did a lot of surf launches with my last boat, but it's been about 2 years and I'm a wee bit rusty. It's all coming back to me, albeit slowly! :P

I wish I'd had my Gopro the weekend before I did almost a full 360 when I came into land and got hit by  waves from 2 different directions. I was completely sideways and literally rode the break of the wave. The boat never felt like it was going to tip although the second wave did buck me off again. I'm not sure what kind of magic :smt077 is used to keep the raptor from tipping, but it works really good for standing up and taking a leak even in good size swell. I won't post a video of that though... :smt044
