I personally think the fish ID/size/regs issue is being overblown. BUT if we decide to do a seminar on regs & fish ID at the safety mtg, I would love to help. Can even bring some canary & YE mounts instead of pics.

I like the raffle idea. Maybe that goes to the local FD or schools/drug programs and half to PIF or HOW  and keep a nice big price for the top fisherman, Because I agree with JJQ I tried and could not come close to RacinRob mad skills winners get the trophy! As for speeding…..its a hill and the it seems to me like the locals raceway . I did my morning bathroom #2 every morning was surprised every morning to a clean bathroom. But the portapoties did fill up fast. My thoughts on the IDs and keeping the wrong fish …..come on bottom line know what you are fishing for or don't keep it. This will always be a problem I was clueless to ocean fishing only a few years ago and fell I am quite knowledgeable on the regs and fish ids now. I would love to help put together a video and flyer with pictures from our fish to help show newbies and show off some cool looking rockfish… Im just open and willing to help on that. I love all the ideas that are coming in. AGAIN THANKS ERIC YOU ARE THE MAN AND THE EVENT WAS GREAT !

I just attended a manufacturing show yesterday @ Santa Clara and registered under than name for the fun of it.  Some of the vendors got it ... sadly, most didn't.

 I don't think it is overblown.  I saw a  few anglers retain  prohibited take.

The object of the meeting at the launch is to show the areas that are dangerous.
 I do agree that many people don't know or remember what is legal or not, maybe we need a ID chart or a cheat sheet on the backside of the Hawg Trough and a descender for everybody who enters and the cost of them added to the entry.
if you know what is legal and don't need the chart , pass it along to a friend. if you have a decender , now you will have 2.

Perhaps, but I know that some people feel uncomfortable inviting LEOs to a tournament.  Maybe we could get a fish counter to host it.  Those guys are usually in a rather hostile work environment, and it might be a nice change for their work to be appreciated.

I hear what you're saying about DFG.  I'm always nervous when I see of of them at the dock as I'm pulling in ... even when I DON'T have fish on the boat.
