Looking to take my old jet ski trailer and turn it into kayak and bike trailer capable of holding 4 kayaks and a couple bikes or more underneath. I don't like the idea of a trailer being a single purpose so I will probably making the kayak rack portion removable so I will have just a small little utility trailer when the racks are removed.  The first thing I noticed about kayak specific trailer is the long tongue, so I've decided to lengthen the tongue but make it telescopic so when I use it as a utility trailer it can be shortened up with just a few pins etc.  I'm making the kayak racks or straddles out of some 1-1/4 tube I had leftover from a previous job and will be bending with my tube bender. Any suggestions are welcomed. I also need to come up with a fishing pole storage area on board as well to keep them organized and safe during transportation.

Eric (Yakhopper) has one for sale in Fresno right now that has all the features you discussed.  Might give you some ideas.

Already have a change in plans and those straddles are scrapped for this project. I'll probably put a bracket on it to mount it to the wall.  Going to the bikke store to pick up a few bike mounts.

You could add a couple cross braces using square tubing. Drill holes through the cross braces for that attachments point for the setups. Design each setup around the cross braces. Use standard hitch receiver pins to connect the setups to the trailer. This should allow you to swap out each setup in a matter of minutes.

I bought my trailer from a guy that used it to haul a jetski and camping gear to the lake with his family SUV.  It worked out great for my Pro Angler 14.  I carry the PA on the bunks, but can load additional yaks on the top rack.  I would imagine I could do three or four across on J racks if I installed them on the top rails.

This is how it came:

And this is how it sits now.  I adjusted the bunks to fit the PA, moved the trailer jack forward as far as possible, and removed the front basket on the tounge b/c it didn't allow enough room for the PA without the hull hanging WAY off  the back of the trailer.

Exactly, we utilized this when building our shop/toy trailer awhile back putting hitch mounts on the corners in case we needed to add hitch style attachments to it.

Nice looking rig there Ring King.

So after I put the kayaks up in position with the help of some wood and man lift I was able to drop the heights down and shorten everything up so that when loaded I can still fit this into a standard garage without having to pitch it sideways.

So decided to shrink it up a little and make it a single use trailer for ease of use and I have a appointment Friday to register it.  The rack is on, and side rails to keep ice chest and totes from sliding off. I need to get two more bikes up here before I can decide on a final layout of the front end.

Dont know why the last pictures were so large, but hopefully these will be smaller. I'm just about ready for the Friday appointment with DMV but tomorrow I will install all the bike mounts to the front of the trailer and add the permanently mounted self retracting ratchet straps for the kayaks.

Nice so far, but one question .... Why have the heaviest load (kayaks) on top, and the lighter load (bike's) on the bottom? Seems a little backwards.

Looks like bikes are up front and off to the sides.  This will leave room for gear boxes and ice chests under the kayaks on the platform he built.   Seems okay to me, but I am no engineer or fabricator.  I would use straps and duct tape that's why I don't build things that need dmv approval.
