Greetings,

I hail from Lake County, been here a year, (so far I have all of my teeth) and have been addicted to fishing since I was a wee one.  I was using a one man pontoon boat and having too much fun trying to paddle and cast.  I tested the Hobie Outback and the Pro Angler.  I decided I like having back spasms from lifting heavy objects and bought the PA14.  The chick that likes me bought the Outback.

I must admit that I am quite fond of the PA14 and have been getting it set up.  I mainly flyfish and chase trout, steelhead and bass.  I want to target carp on the fly, try my hand at crabbing and do some ocean fishing.

This past year, I took up spey casting and bought a two-hander.   So, I spend a lot of time casting and not catching, as I have an even worse addiction caused by a fished called a steelhead.

I tie my own flies, own more rods and reels than I need, and get out on the water as much as possible.  The big rivers and lakes are new to me, as I am originally from So Cal and fished mainly the Eastern Sierras.

I'm digging the kayak thing and am looking forward to reading, learning and contributing.

Stoopid Wind!

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

WTTM!
Just wait until you start fly fishing from your kayak in the ocean.
Talk about being stoked.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome . . . I shall contribute some trip reports in about two weeks.  Hopefully I have a few shots of fish that I landed from the yak.
