Hey Sac. / Elk Grove Crew.  Dollars store on EG Blvd. has tons of noodles.  You may want some for GS8.  I picked up 20 today for my Adventure.

Rocklin has them too. I have 20 or so in 2 or my boats. I could easily get 20 more in each, but I would have no room for anything else.

Last time they had them, I wait a couple of weeks.  They were totally gone when I went back.

I understand the mentality of placing those noodles in the kayak... But I find myself asking "do you really need that much?"

I like that my kayak has plenty of storage inside... I use it more than most people do it seems like. It's convenient and rather secure.

My thoughts on pool noodles is 5 is more than enough to keep the kayak afloat... even with gear.

Of course... I may be wrong. Thoughts?

You should change your name to EdPoolnoodle.

The air in your kayak is more buoyant than any pool noodle.

Try to keep that air in there.

Problem is that water displaces air if your kayak ever flips or gets swamped.  By filling your kayak full of buoyant materials such as pool noodles, you're trying to protect yourself in the worst case scenario.  I personally only have a half dozen noodles in mine, but to each their own.

Beginning of march this year I was back home visiting fam at the gulf of mexico, Galveston.  I flipped my outback twice within 10 minutes trying to get back in through the surf!  my boat flipped over the first time, I up righted it and gotback in but its was low riding, I got INGULFEd the second time close to close to shore.  Made it back to shore and tried to drag my boat, it was heavier than shit!  full of water. god bless the noodle

You are VERY wrong. 5 pool noodles will not keep your swamped kayak afloat with you and your fishing gear on top of it. Check out LoletaEric's video where he stuffed 24 pool noodles and 4 crab buoys into the hull and intentionally swamped it. Look at how low his kayak was riding in the water, his rear well was completely flooded. And this was just from him sitting on it, with no fishing gear.

inflate/deflate.. and form fits to your boat..
