How would your Outback fill with water from being flipped? I practiced deep water re-entry about 15 times one day (in choppy seas) and didn't get a drop of water in the hull. I'm assuming everyone is keeping their hatches secured? I don't want to eat crab that has been gorging on pool noodle.

I assisted in a rescue of an older model outback 2 months back.  the kayak had been turned over for about 5-10 minutes.  After the gentleman got it flipped over it was full - probably 1/3-1/2 full of water.  He had to pump for 5-10 minutes to clear the hull. He didn't have any noodles in his hull but the kayak did retain positive buoyancy even when he was sitting on top of it (this guy was over 200lbs) although it was VERY low in the water.

I don't know much about the newer model outbacks, but any kayak with large hatches that have access to hull interior is susceptible to getting swamped.

I have about 32 in my T13. I still have lots of room for other items inside the hull.
