I'll be going for the albie's but from a 18ft proline. Just have to throw an extra 40gal of fuel onboard just incase they are 30miles out. 2stroke Mercs love gas  :smt003

The weather didn't cooperate even though the water was there all summer long.  I didn't even get 1 trip in this year.  Ouch!

Late summer thru fall is usually primetime. Crazy how warm the water has been and no albacore to be seen.
Has anybody ever caught an albert from the yak in CA? I figure maybe a few in socal motherships but never heard of one in Norcal...

I will catch one or more next year if the water and fish show as well as the weather to allow us to get down the tuna highway.  I have 2 boats that have said they will take my kayak out on.  The weather never really worked out, but 2 weeks ago 22 miles of Shelter Cove a boat landed 10 yellowtail off a rope and kelp patty and they said there were hundreds of them there.  Some albacore have been caught by sports boats after Thanksgiving before too.

No tuna for me this year.  Totally bummed.  Freezer looks weird, not stuffed with loins.  Hoping next year is better.
