Hey Jim, I am looking to fill the trip for a MotherShip BigSur kayak fishing trip for July 18-20th.

Freedivers are welcome.

Email or call me if you or other folks you know want to come.

Leaving from Morro Bay around 8pm Friday and back by 5pm Sunday.

$350 plus food, drinks and side bets. It will be a blast.

Also may have one on June 20-22 for folks itching to get out on the water.

Mel, I think Tom told me awhile back it was the Black Pearl, but I can't really remember for sure...

I've told him to sign up here so he can answer questions better, but If I hear from him before hand about which boat I will post here.

Sincerely,

Jim

I'm intrigued...

Please post more information. How large a boat, how many kayaks, where do you intend to fish...who is the Captain and how familiar is he with the area?

Could be a blast.

Paul

i believe tom said this is going to be a 12 kayak trip, and they will leave morro bay and head north and fish the big sur coastline.

That what I remember as well Cameron.

I've told him there are questions from folks here that I don't know the answers to so hopefully he'll chime in soon.

Would be awesome to explore that stretch of coast for sure!

I was on a Black Pearl kayak fishing charter years ago.  It was ok, but there were a few things that needed addressing.  Granted this info is very old, so do some research for more recent reviews.

The crew was pretty bad.  At one point 2 crew members got in a physical fight.  IMO, a crew is a reflection of the captain (Rick Craddick?) style.  If they are out of hand, well, I blame the captain.  It's his ship to run.

The food was so-so.

Shared bunk room.  Not bad, but don't be expecting staterooms.

There was no swim step on the boat.  You entered down a ladder down the side.  This slowed things down quite a bit.
