Here's my 2 cents (worth only about 1 cent).

This is obviousely SUPER modified for his needs & his style of fishing.  This rig is VERY heavy even bare bones stock.  Possibly the heaviest on the market.  He is also listing prices of a bunch 'o custom work he has done to it ($1000 wrap) & looking to recover his investment.  By all means, it's has a lot of extras that you would normally only find on a boat & it looks well done.    If his style if fishing is the same as you'rs then this would be a great deal for you.  Otherwise, you are paying for a lot of extras that, up here, you may never exen use.  Half the fun of buying & owning a kaya is rigging it for your intended use & style of fishing.

Best of luck & well see you on the water!

Bill

Demo, demo, demo.  Like others have said, the PA is a tank...super stable, super comfy, but that comes at a price.  Before dropping that kind of cash make sure it's the right boat for your needs.

The Pro Angler can handle our ocean up in Norcal, but there are definitely detracting factors for it.  Weight, cost, etc.  It would probably surf launch OK if you're experienced, guys in La Jolla surf launch theirs and their surf zone isn't all ankle biters.

Waay over-modified and the dude seems to be over-selling the cost of these mods. Unless you're looking for a 2011 PA 14 that specifically comes with a custom wrap and lighting system...it would be overkill. And even if you WERE looking for something as specific as that...you could buy a new one and do it yourself for less.
I'm surprised the guy is in such a rush to get rid of the yak, after making all these mods (in the last year)?

OK last thing...I don't understand the new Navy camo pattern. If you fall into the water and need to be rescued, wouldn't the new pattern make you harder to locate?! Same with the wrap on this yak...it m/b harder for other boaters to see OTW.

You can get a brand new or slightly used Hobie PA and rig it the way YOU want it for probably a lot less than what he is asking.  That said, I don't know about a PA in the surf, I would not want to be tossed out and then slammed by a PA in the surf!  I love my 14' PA for freshwater lakes but would not consider taking it in the salt but that is just me.

I have to give that a thumbs down. thats one of the originally pro anglers that came out. he did replace the seat which could be a little nicer then the original, but the new seat is way more adjustable. you have to be careful with the older models because the tubes for the rod holders are pinched off and will snap the tips off your rods. That boat only retailed for $2500 when it came out. The new ones go for $3000, but for the updates you get its well worth it. Secondly it won't be as easy to launch in the surf as some other hobbies like the Revo 13 and the Outback but will still do it.

Once completed, the cost of the wrap is (generally) a $0 value to the next guy.  Quick way to flush some hard earned $.  However I am preparing to do a partial wrap on my pontoon so I'm one to cast judgement on the guy :smt044.  In the end, wraps don't add value....  He can kiss his $1000 goodbye.  I find it hard to believe it cost $1000 to wrap those little areas.

too much money for too much...uh...bling I guess? I think the guy is trying to recoup his labor cost at an hourly rate or something, which isn't really applicable unless he finds the right buyer.
I would steer away from this.

Seems high.  Some of the high-output stuff for "off road" use can be expensive but the kayak won't be subject to THAT type of use/abuse.  I'm suprised how fast LED technology is coming down in price.  My trailer lights on the boat are LED & HELLA bright at ight.

Now if the wrap was pink & yellow & the dude's name was Buck you could change the boat's name from Paddy Wagon to Pxxxy Wagon & it could sell for that price. Put some junk in that trunk & BLAZE them lights!

I would defiantly pass on that. A new PA 12 is $2899 the pa 14 is $2999. Both come with a better seat, rudder trim adjustment, right or left steering, newer mirage drive, full warrantee, and most noteable the transducer well. A new PA and an elite 4 HDI and your still under his price. For our waters I think the PA 12 is better. If your on the salt 80% of the time or more and have or use a trailer then maybe the 14 would work, but for most people up here the 12 is the better choice. I keep a stack of PA 12s in every color at the shop but only one PA 14. Most people want the 12.
