Big thanks to everyone for calling in yesterday. Together we have already raised over $1000 for How Nor Cal. Lets keep it going!

Jerry, out of respect of the other kayak shop hosting the event we will not have tickets for sell that day, but just mail a heck with your name and phone number and I will get your ticket in the drawing.

Is HOW non-profit classified where we can use this 'donation' as a tax write off? Either way I am stopping by the shop to get a ticket.

Just FYI Raffle ticket donations are not allowed as charitable contributions, regardless of the classification of the charity.  See right column as pulled from IRS Publication 526.  IRS views them as a game of chance and thus no deduction 

Gotta change the name from raffle to "opportunity drawing" and participants can write it off... (not a lawyer; just something I heard)
