Ohhh F YEAH!!!! The way it's looking the only time I will have to get on the freeway is to go fishing.

I am less than 5 minutes from where this store is going to be located.

Started working at my new target 2 weeks ago and went from a 1.5 hr commute a day to 10 min.

Life is good

Say good bye to Sportsmen's Warehouse.  This might cause them to go under.  Never understood why they would build a similar store so close to an existing one.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Maybe that's why they are trying to open a store on the 50 Scott.

Good point.  I heard rumors that they were moving into the old K-Mart on Sunrise just down the street from my office.  But the building is so much smaller then what what they are in now.  I'll make some calls to the City and see if I can find out who is going in there.

Scott,

If you can confirm, that would be great!  I own a business just south of that K-Mart.  If Bass Pro opens there my employees would never see me.  :)

Nope, i'm in the same boat!  If i'm looking for something cheap, I might end up there for it.  But at the BPS in Manteca it seems more like a clothing store than a tackle shop to me  :smt044  And though I should be happy about one being built in SJ so I dont 'have' to go to Manteca... i'm not because of where they are putting it, in a area that I grew up in and my father still lives.  I would much rather go to my local Fishermans Warehouse, Mel Cottons, or Coyote Bait for the south bay.

I used to drive by that BPS everyday on the way to work. I think I stopped there 3 times in 2 years.  I much preferred the FW in Manteca although their hours were not as convenient for me.  FW was always cheaper than BPS for the same products.

Nope. I went down to the Manteca store once and wasn't really impressed at all.

It looks like a bass fisherman's paradise, but I didn't see anything special in their saltwater section.

I ended up buying some hunting gear and a gun case, I think.

They had a selection of Marlin teasers & lures ..... isn't that what everyone in Manteca needs? :smt044

I would be happy with Bass Pro Shop, Fisherman's Warehouse, hell just a tackle shop with decent selection in the East Bay. :smt003

Just got conformation, the K-Mart is turning into a Sportsmen Warehouse, but they are only using half the building.  So it is going to be small.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
