long time boat fisherman with a recent urge to fish the kelp beds for rockfish. I rigged up a scupper pro but it did not feel comfortable for any duration fishing for my 6' 260lb frame. Looking to get a Pro Angler and start over. Long wait till May but will likely be boat trolling for Salmon in April

Welcome dude!  Lots of south bay folks around here!  Try to attend a hook-up and make some connections.

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

How the heck did you get your butt in the seat? I'm only 200lbs and could barely squeeze my butt into a Scupper seat! I'd say sell the Scupper and get something wider (or see if anybody wants to do a straight swap for kayaks...those Scuppers are valuable to some people). Although nobody's gonna swap for a Pro Angler...because they're harder to find & cost more...but perhaps a Prowler or Trident or Tarpon swap?

Welcome!

I had a Scupper for awhile and thought the seat mold was actually pretty comfy, if snug.  I wish more seats were snug like that.  It makes the kayak feel like part of you.  But yeah, not very stable for us big dudes in any sort of chop.

yea did not feel stable, I rigged up some stabilizers that worked really well but the scupper was just not comfortable. a pro angler IS in my future. Will keep the scupper for friends who want to join me.
