I fished 50 days in 2013. Goal for 2014 is simple. Fish more days than 2013.

1. ocean salmon
2. hali over 35" ( but I would accept multiple shorter fish as a sub :smt005)
3. seabass over 25#
4. GS 8
5. have fun while being safe, have fish to eat when I want
6. local kayak overnight, with foraged seafood

Best of luck to all!

I don't believe in goals.  My only goal is the same as I have every year:

1. Have as much fun as possible!

Catch a halibut.  Pacific or California or both.

Learn how to cast a bait caster.

Learn to tie shrimp flies.

Same as last year.

AI albacore

Think you can get out to 36x125 ?  :smt002  That little finger of tuna water has been hanging out out there all winter.

Don't get me started.

Last year there was a day when there were fish caught 8 miles out of Shelter...then several where they were 10 miles...

Now that distance is doable in an AI...if slightly nuts

I plan on dedicating more time to trolling for Salmon.  I also still want to get a Thresher.  If WSB make an appearance I would like to be there to great them.  Finally, I have my fingers crossed for a Yellowtail bite at San Clemente this June.  Currently studying up on them.

Im in for salmon trolling! I want to get some flatties too!

We hooked a big shark while trolling for Salmon last summer, there was no slowing it or stopping it on Salmon gear.  We had seen a large shark following our trolled lures and then the shark hit like a Mac truck!  After about 3 minutes it cut the leader and was gone with a lure and big dodger.
Fishing is cheaper than therapy!

Interesting...Where was this? Kayak or PB? I trolled Rapalas around Santa Cruz and Monterey a bit last year, but to no avail.
