My only complaint is that my hands go numb because the wrist gaskets are so damn tight.

You gotta stretch the gasket. Use McNett seal saver and stretch them over a can of beans. Most anglers have a neo neck gasket, but if you have latex you can stretch the gasket the same way, or you can trim the rings on the gasket tk loosen it up.

I was one of those guys that bought the paddling suit after GS5. I switch back and forth with my tempest pants depending on the weather. I get really hot in those suit. Other than that, I love mine.

Yeah, when new, the wrists can be to the tight side, and my wrists aren't that large.  Make sure when you pull the wrist gaskets on, that they are not folded over in any way.  When it is folded over, even just 1/8", the area of constriction is more concentrated.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. The wrist gaskets are so long, it's hard to not get them to fold, but I know what ya mean, folded gaskets makes a difference. You can't beat a dry suit on a cold overcast day.

The night before using my drysuit, I stretch out the gaskets...a small football in each wrist and a coffee can in the neck. Feels much better. But now I have to checkout the McNett seal saver that Dan mentioned too. Because I don't want to over-stretch or crack the gaskets.

Scott, was your replacement suit free under warranty?
What are you guys wearing under the drysuit to stay warm?  I have a drysuit I bought from Dan at Headwaters a couple of years ago and never even wore it yet.

Yes the new suit was free. It had some improvements from my old suit too. I wear a wicking inner layer with synthetic fleece over. The thickness of fleece varies with the air temperature. They can get hot but even in 80 degrees it was warm but doable. I only use it for saltwater but I am on the ocean April to December. It's so comfortable I have slept in it after those epic chrome hunts. Woke up the next morning and was ready to go.  :smt044

I love my drysuit!  But I think I'll trim the wrist gasket and work on stretching it a little.  My left hand goes numb real fast...

Michael

I use assorted brands of tech wear which I bought for backpacking and skiing. You want the fleece to be form fitting not loose so it doesn't bunch up or get pinched in the zippers. For the wicking layer under armor makes some good stuff. They make fleece for kayaking but don't know much about them. As Jed said you are more likely to get hot than cold so light to mid weight stretch fleece is all you need.

Koktat polar fleece bottoms and underarmor 3.0 base layer on top usually. I'll add long johns if its too cold or go lighter on the top if its warm, but I always where my polar fleece bottoms, love those things.

I really like my Mysterioso top.  I like them so much I so much I own 2.  They are tight fitting so I went one size up from large to XL.  For now I use REI heavy fleece polartec pants.  Next chance I'm buying the Mysterioso pants.

I got the Kokatat fleece uni suit for one reason, to keep the top and bottom of the fleece from leaving gaps ie. "Plumbers crack".  It is plenty warm by itself, but the base 3.0 Under armour as a first layer would really make it toasty.

I highly recommend the smart wool Long johns and long sleeve top from rei. It's 100% Marino wool not too thick but not too thin. I've worn it backpacking, snowboarding and sometimes just going out on cold nights. It takes more than a few days of vigorous sweating in it to start smelling any kind of odor and dries really fast being ready to go for the next day. I've had mine for over 3 years and has held up nicely. Oh yeah I wear the socks too smart wool is the bees knees!:))
