Hey
I got a Malibu X factor and rivited a clasp to it and picked up a leak. Need to seal up around the rivits. Any suggestions a good  glue/sealant?
Thinking of 3M #4747.had good luck with that with other things.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Scotty

Silicon or goop. Got to put down a bead before you rivet.

RTV sealant in clear found at auto parts stores is the bomb. Sticks to the plastic and is cheap too. Has always worked for me.

This is where I got the tip for RTV Sealant by Permatex: http://www.captdick.net/HARDWARE_CLEATS_PADEYES.htm

Pan down on the page to find. Capt. Dicks is a cool site too.

Goop is good, and 3M 5200 (Englund Marine and other major commercial fishing retailers) is good too - it comes in a calking tube, so I'll go with the 5200 on a big job.

Good luck - X-Factors rule.   :smt004

5200 melts some types of plastic and is permanent.  I'd go with the Goop since it bonds well to tuperware boats, holds up well and has long been a staple item with us all.
