life on other planets: probably.
life from other planets flying around here on earth (non-microscopic life): not likely
life from other planets abducting random rednecks and performing anal adventures on them: no, the truth to this is probably more disturbing than we want to know but i doubt is involves aliens...

Hell yea!  My story started when I was 9, 10yrs old.  We lived in Milpitas until 1974 then moved into Santa Cruz co.  One night, me and my friend (At the time) Brian, (Lived across the street) were in my front yard, on the lawn, with my telescope, a small, JC Penney 3" refractor (Which I still have!) set up.  We were looking at Mars!  As I recall, each night I set the scope up, and pointed it skyward, every star we looked at Mars. We were certain of this.   One night, between Mars and Saturn I was looking up at the stars for our next planet to find and as I looking up I notice that 7 particular stars are moving all around themselves!  I tell Brian to look up at these stars and as I look back up at them, they seemed to shoot off in all directions at once,  I was able to follow 2 of them as seemed to shot off together. I don't recall now if Brian was ever able to see those stars or not.  I haven't seen anything like that since.  As mentioned I still have that little telescope, and a few others that are slightly bigger.  (An Obsession,20" truss tube dob, 10" Meade STC, an Orion ST120 5" refractor and a ST80 for birding)  After 43 years of Astronomy I haven't seen those 7 floating stars again.

  Still watch for them.......

Unidentified Flying Objects? Sure I believe some flying objects are unidentified, but whether they're aliens is unlikely, IMO. That said, I absolutely believe there is advanced life somewhere on another planet with conditions similar to those of Earth's. How could there not be? It's also fun to imagine it.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Our "Milky way" galaxy, is one of what, hundreds of thousands of spiral galaxies within eyesight?   It has something like a billion billion stars in it?  That movie "Contact" spelled it out pretty well.  I think it's pretty presumptuous of us to think were are alone in this universe.

Not related to topic, but interesting enough.... How many of you have seen the night sky "Milky way" in all its glory?  The different shades, light & dark regions?  What some of you may or may not know is this, as you follow the "Milky way" south, to the horizon, your actually looking at the center of our "Milky way" galaxy! We cannot see through it due to the dark matter blocking light.
We (Our solar system) are located in the Orion arm of our galaxy. There are what 5 more arms in our galaxy?
   We are not alone!

Saw a lot of odd happenings after midnight in the parks when I was a park ranger......... mostly it was drunks  :smt044 Some of my favorites where: self-inflicted axe strike wounds (hold my beer and watch this), gasoline used to start fires burns (hold my beer and watch this) and of course my all time favorite... the drunk with loaded weapons (and once again hold my beer and watch this)... With the New Year coming up, let's be sure to remind our friends not to shoot their firearms off in the air to celebrate....what goes up must come down. :smt009 or perhaps only if the aliens shoot first.  :smt003  :smt044

Ok... Unidentified objects... Driving home from Utah we were out in the open butte area about 2hrs out of Battle mountain... Clouded skies... We saw 2 LARGE objects floating stationary, very high, in and out of the clouds (clouds moving, they were stationary) We stopped and pulled over to get a better look and try to get a picture. There is nothing out there buildings ect... As we stood there waiting for the clouds to clear and see them again. The clouds erupted upward as if something had jumped upward from within them. We heard 2 sonic booms and saw 2 flashes going up! This was broad daylight and after getting home and using google earth to look at the area. There is nothing there, just desert... other worldly? Military? Swamp gas? They were BIG and obviously not natural. UFO....
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

150 foot long cigar, cylinder is better as it was not tapered at all  it had  flat ends with a faint dull orange light coming from front and back on the tips...moved without sound.. 15-30 foot wide
here is the best part - it was only about 200 feet up or so and moved in a jerking motion ..like a top water bait being jerked..it was being pulled not pushed by it's power source...no noise...none
The next two sightings( my last to date) were the same night within and hour of the cigar (as if I was not freaked out enough- out at my post in the night-alone-seeing what I just saw)..and minutes apart and even weirder ...
A white shark right behind your kayak thrashing while you are all alone on open water a half mile from shore...is half as much a startle/scary as seeing a 150 cigar with dull orange lights jerk by above you dead silent in the cold dark witching hours while you are all alone
sucks to be me  :smt005,,if you think folks will believe you that is  :smt009...dont worry cause I know what it sounds like and the thoughts about me it raises  :smt002...I saw what I saw and that is good enough for me....the story is there and do with it as you see fit..I dont care

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

People aren’t supposed to look back. I’m certainly not going to do it anymore.”

I have a hard time telling,  but it is either on a ranch I service,  or a ranch I provided service on a few years ago.  Cool stuff there.
