Good luck, don't know why but gumballs worked for me, a little bit of sugar then spit it out when flavor wears off.

Good luck!  It has been 7 days for me since my last cigarette. Jogging has helped.

Do you REALLY need something long, round and hard in your mouth to suck on??
I didn't think so.
It's all on how you look at it.

So as the end of day 1 comes to an end I have to say it sucked but it didn't suck as bad as I thought it would. Here is what I learned, if I keep myself busy I don't want to smoke but as soon as I sit down it's all I can think about.
I want to let you all know this thread has helped me a lot

Keep it up brother! Few weeks of flushing your system out then it's all just in your head.
You can do it!

Good luck not gaining weight. I've gained 14 pounds. My exercise regimen needs to be upped I guess.

So, today is the day! Today is the day! TODAY IS THE DAY!!!
Today is the day I have decided to quit smoking. Today is going to really suck but a mans got to do what a mans got to do.
Wish me luck guys I'm going to need it.

I can help you, I have a scar from under one arm pit to under the other one. I had a double lung transplant. And guess what you won't be eligible for one! Unless you haven't smoked for two years. I can send a picture if it would help. I can explain what it is like to be able to only walk 10 ft with out oxygen. Should I go On.

No offense but the scare tactics don't really work with me.
I know one day I am going to die, and I am ok with that. I also know smoking is bad for me and will shorten my life expectancy, I know I have a pre existing heart condition and I know smoking is bad for my heart.
The fact is I'm not quoting smoking for my health, I'm not quoting for the money savings, I'm not quoting because society says I should. I am quoting because I want to, I wanted to start smoking and now I want to quit.
But if you want to share some cool scar pics I'm down

That is fine to think you only wish it was an stroke or hart attack. My mom thought so to until she started to suffer. And I know what that suffering is all about. I thought of suicide many times it was so bad. But couldn't do that to the kids. Going for the transplant I thought was going to be a way out ( suicide ). But I'm glad scare tactics don't work on you. You maybe stubborn enough to get it done then. I have a friend who saw first hand what I went through. He said if I went for the surgery he would quit. Well he is still smoking today. I wish you all the luck in the world.
