Hey guys, my wife has a conference in Monterey on December 7th. We're driving down on Friday staying through Sunday. I would have all day Saturday to myself to fish and Sunday morning. What the season down there and what's the ocean like in December. Is it worth bringing the kayak down for 1 day on the water?

I've always had my best catches in December in the Monterey Bay area.  Check the forecast or one of us locals a few days before.

Rockfish season ends on December 31st. It would totally be worth it if the swells are down. Do you dive?

Absolutely bring your kayak. It's a beautiful place to be on the water, even in December.
