I'll be heading up there friday midday myself from santa cruz. So any campsite info would be great. Not sure if I should go ahead and try to reserve a spot yet or if there are some set aside already.

Timber Cove is just a small beach launch with room for 7 or 8 cars if everyone parks correctly. I doubt you'll be able to camp there. Your best bets for camping are Ocean Cove or Stillwater Cove.

If I show up will there be gear for me? Might make the run up....

Hey Ron, there are plenty of loaner kayaks offered. Read back over this thread and PM one of those who offered. What other "gear" do you need to borrow?

Hey Justin, there are several camping spots available up on the bluff overlooking the launch.
It's all first come first served. I'm going to talk with Brenda about the possibility of restricting parking to the highway or bluff in order to open up more room for camping on the beach. I'll post up later with details.

Thanks Cam. Yes Ron,  I have plenty of lure sets but I may run out of the tackle cases.

Ok, good news. Just talked to Sharon Lynn at the Timber Cove Inn and she's got 10 Ocean Deluxe rooms available friday night normally $319 but with the tournament discount just $199. Just mention the tournament when you reserve.

Alright, Just got back from chatting with Brenda (she really is a sweetheart), here's the skinny on camping and day use. She offered up a $10 discount on camping rates and $3 off day use.

So rates are as follows.

INDIVIDUAL OPTIONS:
1.) Camping on the beach = $30 (normally $40) which includes day use/launch fee, room for approx.10 people.
2.) Camping on the bluff = $20 (normally $30) also includes day use/launch, approx. 20 spaces
3.) Day use/launch only = $5 (normally $8)

GROUP OPTION:
We can rent the entire beach/lower parking area for $250 per day/night that includes camping and day use for as many as we can fit :smt003 If we limited parking to the highway we could get A BUNCH of camping/partying going down there. We would of course still have to allow others (non NCKA) day use/ launch/landing.

I'm bringing my little trailer and setting up Tourney Central up on the bluff.

At the risk of being labeled "High Maintenance" could you include information for those of us (me) that are not familuar with the area? i.e. directions to the launch site, kart's needed?, what to expect, etc.
Thanks Ruben

Ruben

I am going to camp on the bluff. It's more level and probably quieter.

No problem Ray, just google Timber Cove Boat Launch for directions. You can drive down to the beach to unload. It's a short carry to the water from there. I never use my wheels at TC.
