There are some tourneys where locals always win, MBK, Moyer. For rockfishing, local knowledge is less important because of sonar and locals tend to not dominate those tourneys. This will be an interesting challenge which I look forward to. Thanks Ruben.

I am getting excited, will send the money tonight. So I know we can only have a one rod and the tackle you provide. Is there anything else besides the fish finder that we should not bring?

You can leave the bait and scents at home too.

How are you going to prevent rancid Rob from using scents?  He has been marinating his yak in fish scent for the last couple of years.  All he has to do is rub the lure  against the side and it smells like an anchovy/sardine cocktail. :smt005

How can we prevent those without line counters from going into deeper water and potentially getting cited?

That is a good question, I rigged up a ff for Albion with duct tape just for that reason, depending on location it can be real easy to go over 120.

I don't think the winning fish is gonna be caught in 180'. In fact I've never fished for rockfish at that depth off a yak. Trust your fellow NCKA bros. Its gonna be badass!!

+1 on that, not to mention the 3 lures don't look to have more than 4-6 oz of lead so even in FAC conditions, 150 FOW would be a stretch. In spite of the advantages of having fished an area before, believe me, this is going to be really fun.

So some people own more than one fishing rod???   :smt002

I think the winning fish will be a fat ling in 30ish fow around the kelp. So really anyone can hook into the winning fish, now landing that fish is a whole other situation. This is going to be fun, let's do this!

I've got $10 for the RC pot... takers?
