As many of you know, it was not a good day on Monday :smt010
With saddness in my hart, I decided to spend the day with the old girl (S.J. River) and reminess about times spent with old friends.
Needless to say, this was some well needed time to myself.
Also as many of you know, I recently recieved my new Ocean Kayak Predator 13 and needed to see how she handled the river currents (paddling upstream).
The first part of my report is about how she fishes, so here she is:

Nice bass!  Thanks for sharing Eric.

Btw, isn't the Predator 13 made by Old Town, not OK?   :smt001

To be fair, I must list the con's:
1. The yak sits a little high, so a longer paddle may be in order
2. This yak drags a little more in the current, so a larger (scoop) blade might help.
3. It weighs a conciderable amount more than the Trident.
4. This yak is almost impossable to load upside down, so a set of saddles are a good bet.

P.S.
The Predator is actually made by Old Town, which is a sister company of Ocean Kayak. Both companies are owned by Johnson Outdoors.
And another FYI,
With the joining of Old Town and Ocean Kayak, The Old Town line will be gearing more towards Freshwater while the Ocean Kayak line will be gearing more towards Saltwater.  :smt006

Those are some great lookin bass Eric. And an honorable way to reminisce the good times. Thanks for the 1st Impressions review too. Did you try standing up? Seems like a good platform to pitch jigs from.

Definatley stood up and it was quit easy, even for a guy my size.
Didn't fish in the standing position though, just not as comfortable with my balance the way it has been latley. Probably be a no brainer for a younger more fit person.

Just realised,
This might have to be moved and I'm ok with that.
Should be in reviews, but also a fish report.
Please feel free to do as needed.
Definatley a place for a "Mooch" decision :smt002

Ah, got ya.  Thanks for clarifying.

Kinda thought that middle hatch looked like the ones on OK tridents, makes sense now.
