Fishkraft and I went out to Frank's Tract today for a little striper action. We lucked out and found a huge school of stripers. We were able to enjoy catching fish while they busted the surface all around us for almost 2 hours! Fishkraft caught his first fly rod striper and I managed my first topwater striper on the fly rod. When all was said and done we had landed 25 12-16'' fish. Not bad for two people who have never fished the area.

That's a great day!  Thanks for the report. I've always wanted to take a shot at Franks tract.

Sweet. I'll bet a top water striper was awesome.

Right on, Guys.  That's some hot action.  I've never caught a striper, but any two hour fishing frenzy sounds worth getting into.   :smt001

Sweet report.     Looks like an early run starting this year.       Been a long time since I hit Franks,,,   caught this one on light spin rod, 12lb test.

Good going bill, looks like I will have to start getting out to Frank's.  Were you in the main tract just outside the wall?
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

We Were in False River. Paddled due north across Frank's Tract and started fishing the eddies exiting Frank's Tract. We marked fish at the wall on our way back once the tide was moving. I would imagine all of the inlets to the Frank's have similar potential.

Where did you launch?  I hit up that same area Sunday morning.  I put in down at Sugar Barge and headed South and then East along the rock wall.  No stripers but I landed 22 largemouth up to about 4lbs.  It was my first time in the area and I had an absolute blast!!  I fished from 5am till about 2pm.

We launched at Sugar Barge also. From the rockwall you would paddle through into Frank's Tract and then turn left and head for the first opening in the tules. There was a guy at the rockwall when we were paddling back at about noon that had one keeper and was landing a shaker when we passed him and the tide was moving through there well. We also marked a lot of fish there on our return trip. We checked the rockwall in the morning at about 7:30 but since the tide hadn't started moving there were no fish there.
