Thanks - tough time at gaffing this season though I've been spared a water's-edge loss, so far.  Thanks for watching the long vid.   :smt006

So... that's how it's done with a gaff.
Nice compilation for the month DC!
I'm gonna have to make another trip down there, how long will they hang around?
Or, are they there year round?
Guess I'm gonna get a gaff too - I netted my one and only puny 23" ARW 'but a couple of yrs ago. :smt003

You are a halibut killing machine!

Is the top side of a halibut tougher than the bottom side? When you gaff the bottom side, your success rate is 4/6. But when you gaff the top side, your success rate drops to 4/11. Just curious.

I fished the cement ship area today for zip... then I gotta come home to watch THIS and JimG's  pics... :smt010

You guys offering classes ?   :smt002

Love the Torqeedo !    Man that yak really flies with that motor.      I have a fairing I made to reduce the cavitation that the shaft creates.   It will increase your speed.     A simple attachment point to the shaft.    You're welcome to try it.

Thanks for the video.

You cant do that with the pacific halibut unless its 30lbs or less otherwise it will flip the kayak.

Thanks all.   Putting all the catches together like this makes it look red-hot and wide-open, but no.  Each one the product of hundreds of casts in a day, lots of work, lucky to get one.  No sure thing this year.

Yes Baitman, I'm interested, I'll PM you.  I researched this motor and found a site which showed this modification to reduce cavitation.  Maybe your post (?).

Thanks for the video.

Thanks, that's my kind of problem :smt001.  Last year's 28 pounder did not go on the boat for that reason.

Interesting, I haven't paid attention to that.  Normally I'll stick anywhere on the head if I have the shot.  Sometimes I hit a hard spot.  They're so few and far between this year, I haven't got my groove on.   :smt001

Very nice compilation, Dan.  To have not lost any boatside is admirable.  Nice gaffing and rod work.   :smt001
