I understand the theories/arguments on both sides. But after catching many 20lb lings on cheapo brass swivels...I'm not convinced it matters either way. Although I've been using better quality swivels lately.

I'm not computer savvy enough to grab a picture from a website to  post on here, but if you search "Tactical Anglers Clips" or "SPRO Split Snaps" you will see what many of the East Coast Striper pro's rave about...

I haven't caught anything big enough to brag about on here with these, but these Clips seem far superior to any of the DuoLock type connections...

I try to use snaps most of the time however I bought some P-line duo lock barrel swivels that looked really good till I tried them out. The ends are bent so tight that you can't get them through an eye on a jig head. They are great for irons, but not swim baits so I've been tying direct lately.

Those are some interesting clips. I used the duo lock this weekend, and everything worked out. I will probably stick with those.
1st Place in a private tournament I did not invite anyone else to be in. (and I barely squeaked out a victory)

Dude, thanks for the help... :)

I discovered these Tactical Anglers Clips reading The Surfcasters Journal; it seems like these are really popular on the East Coast.

They look a lot like paperclips?  :smt005

I started using the TA clips a few years ago, and have never looked back...
I gave a few to a friend up in AK, he has yet to pull one apart on the giant halibut. For my uses, the small (50lb) ones are the best. I find myself changing lures more often due to the ease.
