Refurbish a boat in your spare time?

My wife thinks this little boat would be an awesome addition to a sand lot play yard we are planning for the girls.  I would love to find somebody to go get it,  sand it and paint it up so the old fiberglass will not give the girls splinters.   She said I could have the boat when the girls (not me) grow up.    Post or PM.   

Cappy- I can help with the pick up part, but probably no sanding and painting.  in fact definietly no sanding and painting, but PU and Store?  For you?  Of course...

The glass looks pretty intact.  I wouldn't waste my time with gelcoat or special paints.  A coat of primer and an exterior grade house paint should do.

there was a playground in Lake Cachuma park that had a welded steel pirate ship kids could play on back in the late 70's. I loved that thing. I think it was removed in the late 80s 'cause it wasn't "safety approved"

She saw a wood boat where they did do that (fill it)  on her "Pintrest".  That gave he the idea but I do think she wants this one empty.  I am happy you are looking out for our safety dude.

300 bucks?!?  I think that someone abandoned an old boat with a trailer up here in BC if you want me to go check it out.  It was a lot bigger though...

I think bigger might be fine.  If it is easy, shoot a pic for me.  I would be happy to run up and remove the public nuisance .
