my family and i will be camping on the Russian River next weekend and I am of course bringing the kayak and my father-in-law is going to take me over to Timber Cove as he has dived that area a ton and says that it typically has pretty nice  conditions. is there any parts or any areas close by that i should target or even more importantly spots that i should watch out for with dangerous or sketchy hidden dangers. any information about this area would be greatly appreciated. thanks for taking your time to drop a line ahead of time. thanks.

Just watch out for the little breakers just south of the launch.

Watch out for the sharks in that area! I heard there are some sharks that swim in the ocean. Make sure not to find any. There is a lot of structure outside the cove.

Just head straight out and don't f**k around in the shallows next to shore and you'll be fine.

The same reason we went out of the shallows at anchor. Your more likely to get yard saled in the shallows if you run across a really shallow reef. Get out deeper and look for structure and you will be safer.

When there are reefs and the swell comes, it makes waves. There is a shallower section of reef over there, thus don't f*ck around there cuz you can get hit by a wave.
