Hey guys :smt006

I am working on some Cabezon specific plastics. I have an idea of the couple general colors that some of you use to target Cabezon, but I would really appreciate some color(s) advice if any are willing. From what works to any color combo ideas that aren't available yet would be awesome.

I'll need to give away some free for testing soon too. When they are ready, I'll hand out as many as I can to NCKA bros. ( And sisters) who chimed in.

C'mon big money Ben, i know you got some colors for me!

Thanks peeps

Jesse

Jesse,

I'd be interested in testing for ya!  HAven't had too much luck with plastics for Cab's myself so any new color choices would be great!  Hope to try out on of your octopi one of these days too!

I would say something green. My PB ling came on a green bait. However I'm a proponent of confidante over color. I have confidence in size, action and presentation over color.

cabs target crabs, so I would say red or brown or a combo of both.

I've also caught cabs on green or white or halloween colors, but when I target them I have always used red.

How about a nice crab shaped lure?  We used small 2-3" crab shaped lured in metalic motor oil in Florida for Redfish & Spec. Trout.  Maybe something a little larger.

Motor oil ... and I'm talking about the "real" motor oil color that has that green iridescent shine to it, just like, yup, motor oil.  WIth red flake.

The green/brown motor oil color with red specks has worked REALLY well for me on party boats.

+1 if you think about it a crab does have a lighter colored underside.

Take some, but save some for later.
