Paddling out at first light tomorrow.  Saw several party boats right off Lover's Point last night and tons of birds diving between them.  Planning on trolling around for salmon.  Got to be to work by 9am.

Company welcome.

Josh

Not trying to get you off the water but this was in a monterey report...

July 30th - Perfect fishing weather today. Set out to new salmon grounds with a couple other commercial boats. Didn't find any salmon but... did scare up a 15+ foot great white shark next to the boat and got a couple nice lingcod in the boat and limits for all of BIG blacks and red rockcod. Had to let a couple short lings go to grow too. 70 degrees, clear, 54 fish.

This was probably further offshore. Good luck finding pink!

Damn sea lion was on me like glue as soon as I paddled out.  I yelled at him, splashed at him but he was my friggin shadow.  Was able to get the rockfish in before he got to them but then had a nice big take down, line peeling, knew it was a salmon and he dove straight for it!  Couple big tugs and he had his breakfast.  I'm beginning to understand why so many sea lions wash up on the beach with bullet holes in their heads!

Oh well, got a fat stringer of rockfish.
