Hey all, just moved to Lakeport, and since I live right on the lake, I figured its time to get back into yak fishing.  I sold my old yak when I moved to the desert, just trying to decide which to buy right now.  Here's my first Clear Lake cat from my dock, not too shabby!

Thanks guys.  That pic is a bit deceiving on just how big that channel is, 36 inches long, 25+ pounds.

Nice fish! Good luck on the yak shopping. Lots of choices nowadays.
Btw a 36" channel catfish is about 14lbs.

Fish weight calculators based on length alone are pretty inaccurate, especially for a fish that has girth, which when compared to my size 12s you can see this fish has.  But bottom line, I didn't get a weight, so my estimate doesn't mean a thing, and we all know a fisherman would never exaggerate.  :smt044

True that... but I was basing my estimate on the hundreds of catfish I've processed at my family's catfish farm; not a calculator. Knowing that's a sz12 shoe, does change my estimate though...she's a girthy SOB for sure!

Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
