I will be launching around 7am and head over to the ponds and target some bass. Will fish til around 10 or 11a then head back over toward the launch and practice self rescue for awhile.

I know there are people wanting to hit the salt for the first time on their yaks and this will be a great opportunity to prepare yourself. It will also make the seasoned guys you go out with feel a lot better about you being out with them.

If you are gonna make it bring what you will be using out on the salt so you can practice with it on the yak so it is a little more realistic.

If interested in chilling afterwards let me know I can bring the grill and beer and make a little potluck out of it.

Last time we went and did this you did not need a wetsuit.

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I think it's awesome you are doing this and giving folks a chance to practice self-rescue in a safe and controlled environment.

Such an important skill to have!

Thank you!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

I might make this if I get back on Saturday from the HOW fishing event.  It will give me a chance to practice using my dry suit.

Your not gonna want to get back in the boat with a dry suit on it gonna be smokin hot Sunday. Last time we were out it wasn't this hot and we were doing self rescue in swim trunks.

I will be bringing my dry suit to practice in as we'll this time.

The wife gave me the pass. I will be there. How much is it to launch at that  location?

I'm down for both the self rescue and barbecue/potluck. I convinced my wife to get on a kayak for the first time. I'm hoping she likes it as much as I do. Is there anywhere to rent a kayak there, a Hobie preferably.
