For boredom and kicks, anyone see the mermaid documentary a few days ago? Thoughts? http://animal.discovery.com/tv-shows/mermaids/videos/the-new-evidence-are-mermaids-real.htm

The show said there was a governer offering one million dollars for hard evidence. Don't recall the place.

Some interesting thoughts, but there wasn't nearly enough to convince me.

I believe my kids watched this. They said it was as bad as finding big foot.

If you can't convince my 10 year old daughter I think I'll pass.

Discovery and TLC used to have programming that actually taught us something. Nowadays it's mostly trash, especially TLC.

I think we, for the most part, are still a bit close minded when it comes to "does this or that exist".  I am doubtful that what we believe is a "mermaid" exists but there is a "more than likely" chance that something of its nature does exist.  We still, to this very day, discover creatures & such in the worlds oceans that yesterday we had no proff existed.  Same holds true for space.  All that vastness out there & we are the only "thing" to exist -- I'm doubtful & all for "show me the proof".

that mermaid show is a "mokumentry" , i had to explain to my wife that it wasnt real and doesnt claim to be real...its just to entertain us and IMO it did just that. I thought the animations of the mermaids were pretty cool actually and the scientific talk of evolution was very interesting , expecially the stuff about how man adapt to water conditions.
