Calling all HMB Derby Procrastinators!

It's time to register if you haven't already done so.  You'll save $5 and help us out if you pre-register now instead of Sunday morning.

Bill needed to pay in advance to rent the HMB Yacht Club hall.... but it should all be worth it come party time!

I'd love to register and attend, but my wife's birthday is July 16th and I  really don't want a divorce anytime soon.     No amount of WAF in the world would allow me to leave her home with our 6 month old son by herself on her birthday.  I suppose she and Owen could come along, but hanging out with all the other kayak fishermen's non-fishing spouses in a parking lot while I'm out fishing all day wouldn't exactly say "Happy Birthday".  I'll see everyone at Elk though to defend my title (assuming I don't miss the sign up window.)

I've been looking forward to this event for a while now. So now that it's here, I'm not so sure I can make it. On Saturday the 15th, my family is having a 100 day ceremony for my older brother, who was killed in April. In our culture, we mourn for 100 days, then we have a ceremony complete with Buddhist monks, to celebrate his life, as short as it may be.

It will be a last minute thing, if I do get a chance to get out there.

I just found out about the derby and would like to sign up but I'm fairly new at kayak fishing and have only fished out of Santa Cruz.  I don't know anything about HMB and want to ask some questions about tips on fishing this area and proper fishing rigs. Under which topic should I post these questions? 

Also, I have a small outboard that I use to extend my range and as a safety measure incase the winds come up in the wrong direction on the return.  I don't suppose they are allowed in thederby but I just thought I'd ask.
