Conditions permitting, I plan on diving Thu & Fri afternoon after fishing in the morning.
I figure it will be 3pm by the time I haul my fishing gear back to camp and switch into my diving gear.

If anyone is doing something similar, let me know.  I will have my radio on in case.

I plan on being out there diving if conditions allow...but I will be diving off the kayak and exploring the stretch between the hotels and abalone point using my FF to try and find some good spots to explore.

I will be monitoring my radio when not in the water.

If I find any good spots that are reasonable depths and hold fish/abs I will let you know.   :smt001

Jim

Not at all Justin!

Fair warning though...I'm on a mission to shoot some fish so my plan is to use my FF to find structure and cover ground until I do.   :smt003

After scuba diving in Hawaii last week it made me want to do some underwater hunting here.  I'm bringing gear, so this time maybe ill put down the rod and get in the water. I don't have a spear though. Maybe I can scrounge one up.

Rob, if you or anyone else has a floatline you can borrow one of my extra guns...or just be careful not to drop it and promise to replace it if you lose it. But to be honest a flaotline is the way to go IMO.

My extra guns are an ab biller 32 with a 5 prong trident of death tip, a riffe padauk comp 00, and a Riffe midhandle 44 inch cannon with a sliptip (you don't want to dive with that though, way too big).

Spearishing is not easy up there in my experience...I have not been able to shoot a single fish the past 3 years up there.

This year I will be trying again. Sooner or later my skills will improve enough and conditions will be favorable enough that I will get some. Hopefully this will be the year.  :smt004

Ab and uni diving is much more of a "sure thing" up there, but even then I have struggled to find good sized abs (ones over 8.5 inches). That is why this year I am committing myself to yak diving, exploring, covering ground and keeping on looking for structure and clear(er) water.

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim
