Anyone interested in Scuba Diving these days off the shore or yak?

I plan on being out there diving if conditions allow...but I will be diving off the kayak and exploring the stretch between the hotels and abalone point using my FF to try and find some good spots to explore.

I will be monitoring my radio when not in the water.

If I find any good spots that are reasonable depths and hold fish/abs I will let you know.   :smt001

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

"I will be monitoring my radio when not in the water." ...... In the water before most of us are finished with our cup o coffee. Then sitting on the beach with cold BL stroking the eel and play with his limit of fish he speared in first 20 min OTW/ITW while the rest of us are still paddling out.

"If conditions allow".....   anything under 30 knots and 11.5 ft.

"If I find any good spots that are reasonable depths and hold fish/abs I will let you know." .....  30-60 feet with at least 10 inches vis and creepy caves.  :smt006

And My favorite....
"Spearfishing is not easy up there in my experience...I have not been able to shoot a single fish the past 3 years up there.
This year I will be trying again. Sooner or later my skills will improve enough and conditions will be favorable enough that I will get some. Hopefully this will be the year.  "  So for us mortals, success spearn' fish is what....... :smt005

Sounds like fun, except this old guy with a pole spear will hit the water after his 3rd cup o joe and the sun is up with no wind, minimal swell and 5 ft vis with no creepy caves I have to crawl into.  Your arms are longer than my body Big guy, so where you reach,  I have to crawl in.  Count me In.

My tanks are not in date. I would consider though if  I had room to take my BC and could get tanks. Most likely just free dive if I dive at all.

I thought I replied to this thread, guess I didn't. I'm down to pop some Abs and Uni, Friday Saturday and Sunday. Maybe even Monday before I go home. I'm not tryin to shoot any fish, just get some abs and Uni then get back to camp and eat!

Thanks fellas!! I got it on Friday over by Abalone Point before Andy and the shore dive crew showed up.  I crawled way into this cave to look around the corner for a Ling and while I was wiggling out I spotted this furry beast up on the ceiling.

 :smt004

Not a ten, but a very meaty, fat, round hubcab of a 9.5.
