Nathan is an elite level 10 gymnast.  Has had a string of really crappy luck relative to medical/injuries for 6 years.  Only one was gymnastics related.  1 to swollen lymph nodes, and one to a bum shoulder ( damaged catching a falling piece of equipment) Lost two years to weird vein issues, 2 years to cracked vertebrae,  Kid hung in there and is 8th in the nation at Parallel bars, 21st overall.  Not bad considering he was still broken in January.  He has one more year at this level, then he can try to get on a college team.

knowing how he loves the ocean, I figure he sees Cal and Stanford as the best and only West Coast choices.  Oklahoma and Iowa not so much ;-)

Seriously, this is a brutal sport, they train 20+ hours a week, year round.  Few scholarships, no pro money, just love of the sport.  Congrats son!  Now lets go catch some fish  :smt003

Way to go Nathan!  Keep up the great work.

Not sure if they have a gymnastics program, but Cal Poly, SLO is a fantastic school AND very close to the ocean.  Might be a biased opinion though!  :smt003

So stoked for him Eugene!!!

I have really enjoyed diving with him the past couple years and getting to know what a great young man and gifted person he is.  You and your wife must be very proud.

Awesome, so happy for both of you!  U of Maine has a campus on Mt. Desert Island, U of RI is part of the Research vessel thing.  Ihave no clue if they have a gym team or not.

Way to go, Nathan!  Well done, Tsugi family!   :smt001

When he makes it to the big time I can say "I know that kid!  His old man and I have been friends for years!"  even though we've never met in person.  That's an ideal that online communities have made a reality.  That's some pretty badass real life observation and appreciation, IMO.

Right on Nathan, Eugene! The kid is a machine in and out of the water.

Well done!
