Why not go Shimano Curado 301 or Daiwa Lexa 300hl either will hold 300yd of 30lb braid.
If it must be mono, look at the new Okuma Cold Water series.

I have this reel... it sucks.

any line under 40 lb.  will get hung between the spool and frame.   Only works if you keep the line tight at all times.

For Rockfishing or what?  A Abu Garcia 7001 is a great choice for cranking up rockfish and big lings and such.  A cheaper investment, but still one of my faithful favorites, a Shimano Cardiff 401A. Also, the Avet SX is a really good choice, even though it's not level wind.

For big salmon, stripers and butts I would consider the Shimano TR200G L. It's a level-wind and holds 300 yds/20 lb test. Not expensive. They simply work well.

It will work for rockfish and smaller ling cod as well, but I would not recommend it as a primary bottom fish reel. Bigger lings will just bulldog you into the rocks.

I use it on my bigger/beefier salmon stick.

I was going to suggest this one as well.  It holds 320yds/20lb, pretty close to what you're looking for and it's a levelwind.

I'm right handed, but fish lefty because it just makes more sense to me. Why pass the rod back and forth from one hand to the other every time you cast?

I'm a big fan of the Shimano Cardiff 401. Probably not quite the line capacity you're looking for, but these things are workhorses (and reasonably priced). Rinse off the salt when your done and it'll last for years.

+1  :smt002  The 401 Cardiff is a good inexpensive choice for leftys.  Paired with a MH Trevala it's my favorite RF combo.  With 30lb braid you can spool much more than you would ever need.  I add a 7-10ft 25lb Mono leader at the end with a uni-uni knot for abrasion resistance and to make it easier to breakoff a snag.  Seen several guys go swimming because of a snag they couldn't get unstuck in swells.

Cardiff is great but the thumb freespool button is prone to getting stuck with salt so cleaning and oiling is essential
