I've been thinking about this ever since I built it and the final piece will be a little different than the pics show.
I think the areas of potential failure are the crimps on the cable, and the amount of line available to the fish during the first post-harpoon run.

I'm going to arm the harpoon with 50ft of high vis 250# test line rather than the 1/4" 75# line, and I am re rigging the dart with uncoated 300+# stainless cable with dual crimps.
