My email was hacked today from somewhere in Indonesia. Couldn't send out a bulk warning to my contacts,  because the service kept thinking I was sending Spam - ironic. Have to wait till I get home and have more time. Been changing passwords all morning. So to any NCKA buds whose personal email I have, don't open todays email from my Riverandsnow address.

My wife's yahoo account was hacked as well, probably from same region!  she called Yahoo about it but didn't get to far.  a few days later, she got an email from yahoo "That there has been some suspicious activity on your account"  Oh you think!...  She too has been changing her password.
Crossing my fingers, my account ben in tact now since I created it back in the day.....

Thanks for the warning Kirk.  I'll change my password to make it harder to "crack" by those bad "hackers".

I had the same thing happen a few years back.

Usually the e-mails are easy to spot, but I received an E-mail from a known angler from PFIC and the title was "Check This Out!" and it was also addressed to a bunch of e-mails I recognized so I thought it was legit. I opened it and clicked on the link (don't even remember where the link took me) and a few days later people were receiving bunk e-mails from my account.

I just logged out of my account, then changed the password and I haven't had any issues since.

Same issue here,
Sorry if anybody got a message from me lately, wasn't me.
Ironically, my phone also took a dump this week. If you were on my contact list. I probably no longer have your #. If you want me to add your info to my new phone, send me a text, or pm me here.

I had a password that met the standards for a good password and up-to-date Kasperskys antivirus, antispyware, Kasperskys is supposed to be one of the best. They still got through.

I believe the yahoo attacks has nothing to do with someone using your password to get into your account.  You might want to change to gmail.  From what I've heard Yahoo is still being hacked.

I never click on emails with links and little, if any info, that the sending person talks like he/she knows me. So, yes, I ask for confirmation via other methods, that the person sent the email. Same goes for Facebook.

Yahoo through their DSL association with SBC now AT&T. I had already found it, but Yahoo did send me a suspisious activity email. when I responded they shuttled me over to AT&T.
Good article. Other than the hacker I don't know who to blame. Not my kind of tech. I'm a hardware guy.
