Recently got together with a group of close friends and traveled to Laredo Texas on a  bow hunt for Javelina. We had a great time and all of us were sucessful. It's not a Sonoma pig but it is a trophy that I thought I would share. It's very rare to see a Javelina with turned out teeth like a pig. This is considered a big Javelina.

Thanks! Cooked up the backstraps from one on the BBQ with masquite. Great flavor and no gamey taste. Little on the chewy side though. Next time we'll tenderize a bit :violent1: :smt003 We donated most of the meat to the local foodbank. 1st photo is on the first day hunting and the second was on the last day. Definitely a challenge. Great hunt!

I was wondering if this was in Texas.  Nice job.  Those javelina are all over the place in south Texas.  I had some once that was slow cooked on the BBQ all day with a mustard based rub with lots of grilled opinions and peppers plus thick homemade flour tortillas.

Nice!

I think I woulda made a mount out of that 1st one.

Both are at the Taxidermy. 1st one is going to be a shoulder mount and the second Europeon mount. The photo on the second doesn't really show the quality of the lower teeth but they are a little over 2 1/2 inches with a twist. Pretty big chompers!
